Two facilitation teams, the planning working group (PWG) and advisory task force (ATF) have been hard at work preparing a transparent, inclusive planning process to develop a common vision for the future of the City’s waterfront. The city manager Keith Van Beek along with these teams will be presenting the Public Participation Plan to Council on Oct 10, 2018.
Over the past months, private sector ATF has conducted in-person interviews with community and business leaders who shared their thoughts, observations and voices to help inform our work.
The presentation will outline how the public is invited to engage in a collaborative, transparent process to talk about what the community wants to have at the waterfront in the short-term and in the next 40 years as additional opportunities arise.
The James De Young site is the first opportunity to begin shaping this vision. At their October 10, 2018 study session, City Council is scheduled to receive the Public Participation Plan which includes key messages and initial opportunities for the public to engage.
